The Role of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) in Preserving the Chesapeake Bay, Moderated by Congressman Scott Rigell, Organized by the Chesapeake Bay Advisory Board

The TMDL Forum began with a welcome and introduction  from Congressman Scott Rigell.  The following panelists presented summaries regarding where their affiliated organization stood on TMDL’s:

  1. Jeff Corbin, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Senior Advisor on the Chesapeake Bay
  2. Carl Hershner, PhD., Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Director of the Center for Coastal Resources Management
  3. Anthony Moore, Natural Resources for Chesapeake Bay Restoration, Deputy Secretary
  4. John Carlock, Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, Deputy Executive Director
  5. Ted Henifin, Hampton Roads Sanitation District, General Manager
After the panelists summaries, the panel answered questions from the audience.  There were over 150 attendees at the forum with over 50 questions.  Questions from attendees ranged from, “How can aquaculture help clean the bay?” to “What is the EPA going to do to make sure we clean up the Bay?”
