First Annual ‘Play-In’ for Climate Action!

On September 20th, 2016 Moms Clean Air Force held their first annual ‘Play-In’ For Climate Action to bring families together for a peaceful gathering to raise awareness around climate change and call on our lawmakers to take action. The event was held at Mount Trashmore and featured live entertainment, speakers, and activities for the parents and kids. Music, yoga, and dancing started off the day with children’s entertainment and activities by Music Together, Little Rock Stars, Children’s Yoga by Little Lotus Yoga, Movement and Music by Zumbini with Wendy, Speed Stacks Cup Stacking, Hooping on the Bay, and Windy Stories by Carolyn. Our amazing partners of the event included the Children’s Environmental Health Network, Consortium for Infant & Child Health (CINCH), Southeast CARE Coalition, League of Women Voters of South Hampton Roads, Chesapeake Climate Action Network, Sierra Club, Virginia Conservation Network, Environment Virginia, League of Conservation Voters, Emily B Hall Photography, and Vicki Cronis Photography. Food trucks 757 Seoul Tacos and Kona Ice were also in attendance. The day ended by words from our speakers who were phenomenal and heartfelt – Thank you to Carol Maxwell, Melinda Truslow, Alden Cleanthes, Dottie Holtz, and Angela Harris and the children from the Southeast CARE Coalition!
