Katarina Bezakova is our Environmental Project Manager. Katarina grew up in Eastern Europe in Slovakia. As curiosity is her natural personality trait, she could not resist the temptation to experience the Western world for herself. Katarina lived, worked and studied eight years in Germany. While writing her thesis and analyzing German media coverage about the UN Climate Change Conference in Bali 2007, she had to deal with climate policies of the industrial countries, developing nations and emerging economies. The discrepancy among the industrial countries, especially among Germany and the U.S., evoke in her desire to better understand the American way of dealing with environmental issues. For one and half years Katarina and her husband have been experiencing the American way of life.
Katarina met Terra at Green Drinks – monthly networking events to connect and unite the environmental community. At TerraScapes she has been working on diverse campaigns ranging from protecting our oceans and fisheries through reforming animal agriculture to promote a healthy, sustainable system of food production to importance of shifting our current energy systems from its predominantly fossil fuel basis to renewable energy sources.
