COMMUNITIES ON CLIMATE: Richmond Public Health and Community Wellness Fair
July 13, 2013
TerraScapes worked with the Communities on Climate (CoC) campaign and Trinity Family Life Center to organize a Public Health and Community Wellness Fair event in Richmond revolving around the impact of climate change on public health and community wellness and the importance of taking federal action to address the issue.
TerraScapes assisted with the coordinated media outreach that garnered 3 media outlets who showed up to cover the event. These outlets included The Richmond Times-Dispatch, ABC Local TV 4 and The National Review.
By building a coalition of public health, faith, environmental and African American groups comprised of the Chesapeake Climate Action Network, American Lung Association, Sierra Club, Central Virginia Asthma Coalition, and Richmond Food Co-op , the event raised awareness with Richmond communities disproportionately affected by the public health impacts of climate change.
